URGENT - 4TH CONCESSION TOWN COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY NOVEMBER 26TH

Dear Norfolk Community,

Council has re-scheduled the meeting regarding the potential re-opening of the 4th Concession of South Walsingham to Tuesday November 26th at 5pm. Please arrive by 4:30, just in case.

After being initially scheduled for December 3rd, it is reported that Mr. Squires and Mr. Kenline had requested the meeting be delayed until December 10th so that their Lawyer may be present. This had apparently been agreed upon by Council.  It his now been reported, however, that last Thursday afternoon not only was this decision reversed, but the date has been fast-tracked to tomorrow, November 26th. Mr. Kenline nor Mr. Squires will have their legal representation present due to this sudden change.  The timing of this decision also did not allow for any additional deputations to be submitted by other residents.

This shows a tremendous amount of disrespect towards these three gentlemen and the community on behalf of Council.  It appears as if Council does not want them to be prepared for this meeting, or even to have time to contact their fellow community members who also do not support the closure of the road.  After Council had been informed that Solicitor Mr. Cline would not be able to attend, on multiple occasions, concessions should have been made.  We are sickened by this decision.

We are making an impassioned plea to the community on behalf of Mr. Squires and Mr. Kenline - please come out to the council meeting tomorrow.   Show your support, and let council know that their constituents will not stand for decisions that are not made in the best interest of the community.  Please put forth your best effort to attend as your fellow citizens need your help.

Regards,

Norfolk Voice
