Statistics Canada has just released their payroll and earnings report for 2013 and the average Canadian salary now stands at roughly $47,200 per year. In 2012 the average salary was $46,000 up roughly 2.8%.
Professional, scientific and technical services averaged $65,675 per year while Health Care and Social Assistance were also up on average to $43,420. Manufacturing came in at $54,000.
The largest increases were to local, municipal and regional public administration at $60,000 per year.
For the love of our Community and Citizen's that have been hard pressed to find any employment these days we've analyzed potential employers to see if we could find a way to help them out. We believe that we have found your dream job.
You will no longer have to worry about getting up at stupid o'clock in the morning to get to work on time. Fat cat salaries, enormous benefit packages and tons of vacation time can all be had at one place! Wooohooo. Sign us up!
$500 chairs to sit in so that the wad in your wallet doesn't affect your sciatic nerve and the finest filing cabinets that money can buy. Need room for storage, no problem with this employer. A washroom can be demolished for a measly $35,000 to accommodate your every need.
The one thing that we don't recommend however is to run into a burning building. It's unfortunately the lowest paying job on the golden totem pole. They average just over $62k but now a temporary Building Inspector will rake in a sweet $85,600 per year. Let's see them Inspect the source of the fire shall we? You could always Plan to stop the fires. For $94,900 per year we're sure that you will possess those skills.
If you think your resume just isn't up to snuff, think again. You can always use your mom as a reference since she wants you out of the house anyway. The head of HR won't check up on you so don't worry about being creative with your qualifications. We recommend for you to send your resume in on a weekly basis. They are usually pretty busy standing by the water cooler arguing why the head of Tourism only makes $202.47 more than the head of the EMS unit and why they are not up higher on the Sunshine List.
It appears that the one true advantage that could help you out with obtaining your dream position would be a course in Public Teat Suckling but we couldn't seem to find that course offering at Fanshawe or Mohawk. It could be a special interest course only offered by your new employer but we're sure they'll fill you in.
If they give you the excuse about some hiring freeze we suggest you step up your job search and apply more often as we know that not to be true. They've been claiming that for years. If need be we suggest you contact all Department heads and that way you can also keep your 'Job Search List' updated to keep your unemployment cheques coming in.
We've compiled a list of potential careers by department so you can choose your golden position. The person you want to reach out to is Kandy Webb.
She can be reached at x 1229 kandy.webb@norfolkcounty.ca.
She's paid over $132,000 per year so she may take her time getting back to you. It's hard work counting your loot everyday.

If you're lucking enough to become the Roads Manager you can gift your wife a road while driving your department in a hole or help your Community members by Planning for a Zombie Apocalypse. Now that will certainly impress all of your friends and especially your mom.
Don't take the job of Councilor. It's pays very little and the Mayor isn't even paid enough to afford a crack habit.

Maybe we were a little to harsh on John Ford about being negligent in his previous duties. He appears to be letting Council know that they have a problem. 12 times he's reminded them in one budget. It's obviously just not getting through.
